Recently, we were asked why RemoteSMS Pro needs so many Permissions.
So here are the Permissions of RemoteSMS Pro explained in detail (also applies partly to all other apps from ct-designs):
| Permission | Explanation |
| android.permission.INTERNET | Permission is needed to start the Webserver of RemoteSMS Pro |
| android.permission.READ_CONTACTS | This is needed for showing you your contacts and contacts groups on the Webinterface of RemoteSMS Pro |
| android.permission.READ_SMS | RemoteSMS Pro needs this permission for accessing your SMS History |
| android.permission.WRITE_SMS | This is needed in order to delete messages or mark them as read |
| android.permission.SEND_SMS | In order to be actually able to send new Messages from the webinterface this Permission is needed. |
| android.permission.WAKE_LOCK | This permission is needed to avoid the phone going into sleep mode when the screen is turned off and thus slowing things rapidly down. |
| android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE | This permission enables RemoteSMS to read your phone-number and/or your IMEI. This is needed in order for the Android LVL to work (mainly copy-protection). |
| android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE | RemoteSMS Pro caches all HTML code and contact pictures/data on your external sd-card in order to speed things up. Also, this enables you to modify the HTML code of the webpages used and to create your own RemoteSMS Pro Templates. |
| android.permission.BLUETOOTH | Permission needed in order to start the Bluetooth Webserver. |
| android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE | This is needed to display the IP of your phone (the URL you connect to). |
We encourage you to always contact our support first if you have any questions or problems.

We have added our paid apps to the SlideME Market.
This market allows payments from all over the world – even from countries which are not allowed to pay apps from the official android market:
If you are in a country that doesn’t have Android Market or Google checkout, then SlideME is the place for you. SlideME hosts near 1500 applications from the Android developer community, providing a small, but wide range of selections.
Since SlideME is an independent marketplace, we also host applications that the Android Market has pulled due to violation of operator terms (like tethering applications). We don’t have such restrictions here.
To get started, just download SlideME’s SAM to your device. You will find much more information about an application with SlideME than you will with the Android Market. From SAM, you can browse a gallery of screenshots for an application or even watch a video demonstrating it. We don’t limit the description size, allowing the developer to tell you what the app is really about.
If you are more into the full experience of web-browsing for applications, you can do this from your desktop. Make sure you have SlideME on your device. Then scan the QR code on the website. SlideME will pop up, allowing you to download or purchase the application.
