RemoteSMS Full (6.7)

Update 08.03.2010:
We had to update RemoteSMS Full a couple of times in the meantime. Because of the new ajax sending technology, some numbers and messages were transferred incompletely to the phone. Please update to RemoteSMS Full 6.7.4 as soon possible (the bug is fixed in that version).
We are really sorry about the many updates the last couple of days and the inconvenience this was causing you.

Original article:

A new version of RemoteSMS Full has been released. There are a lot of rather big (internal) changes from which all of you will benefit.
We changed the way the contacts are cached by RemoteSMS. This will improve the start-up times of RemoteSMS rapidly. After an initial parsing process (first start of RemoteSMS), contacts will be loaded much faster every next time you start RemoteSMS.

However, there is also a downer:
Since the contacts are cached internally by RemoteSMS, all changes you do to your contacts in the meantime are missing in RemoteSMS (edit, delete, add, etc.). You will have to manually clear the cache of RemoteSMS (Menu Button -> Clear Cache) and restart RemoteSMS, before you will see your changes. We will fix this issue in one of the following releases of RemoteSMS.
Of course, you can always disable this feature in your settings of RemoteSMS.

We also added a thread view on the main page.
From now on, you can choose whether you want to see all messages at once, or grouped by conversations. You can enable message grouping in the settings.

And last but not least:
RemoteSMS is localized to French. Thanks to Alexis G. for the great translation job!

And like always, minor bug-fixes ;)
Please let us now what you think of the latest release

    Hi guys,
Best app I own. Thanks for all the hard work. One issue I continue to have it that I have duplicates of every one of my mobile contacts (I have it set to only show mobile contacts). I’ve cleared the cached. Any suggestions?

If you are using the android phone book combined with e.g. Exchange/Touchdown, then this is possible.

With the new release when I send txt’s it is randomly cropping them. Sometime its sends it all, other times just one line, or a few words!

    Hi Steve,

thank you for your feedback. If your contact data is wrong/incomplete/missing, etc. just clear the cache of RemoteSMS (Options->Clear Cache) and restart it.
    This should solve your issue.

I love this product and use it every day. WIth the latest release I have noticed contacts seem intermittently to be missing. Sometimes they are there, sometimes they aren’t. I do use the contacts cache facility – but have neither added nor removed contacts since installing the new version of RemoteSMS.
